Bird Island
There are three islands on the lake, including the largest one called “Bird Island”, which resembles a fjord in shape and is a reserve for birds. It is a great place to observe and take photos. The reservoir is fed by an underground tunnel led from Lake Lead, which was built by the Teutonic Knights. In addition to it, the lake has six tributaries.
Three villages – Rybical, Wejdyki and Ants – are adjacent to the lake. In Ryn there is an eco-marina with access to electricity and water. Up to 60 yachts can dock at its marina. In addition to it, there are three holiday resorts and nine campgrounds. The Mazurian Sailing Route runs through the lake, reaching Ruciane-Nida, Mikolajki, Gizycko and Wegorzewo.
